In the month of June - the Kent Rock Recycling Shed took the opportunity to update its business plan for the current financial year [2025-2026], including as much detail as possible how it plans to profit from its solution in response to ESwatini Environment Authority’s Waste Management Innovation Challenge; Stellenbosch University’s Zero-Waste-to-Landfill Strategy; and the Royal Science & Technology Park’s Sustainable Development Goals Innovative Enterprise Challenge.

The first thing that comes to mind when the Kent Rock Recycling Shed is working on its Social Enterprise (Startup: Lilangeni Recyclables LTD] is the the Kingdom of ESwatini’s Citizens Economic Empowerment Bill: The Kent Rock Recycling Shed needs an endorsement from this Bill as it proposes the use of revenue from public toilets [air pumps in gas stations and carbon credits] to cross-subsidize the business operations of Lilangeni Recyclables LTD [the collection, storage and supply of barcoded items from waste material] to the value of E1.00 per unit of production.

In the month of June 2025 - the Kent Rock Recycling Shed received funds from ESwatini Environment Authority’s Temvelo Awards for its solution and managed to spend it in capsules of E200.00 to illustrate the capital requirements from its petty cash transactions; To solicit further immediate funds from the market - the Kent Rock Recycling Shed has been using the better part of June preparing to revisit its application for a grant from the ESwatini Environment Fund’s call for applications 2024-25.

After completing three courses with The Commonwealth’s Online Learning Platform - the Kent Rock Recycling Shed was given the opportunity to apply for a grant to develop its solution – a total of $20,000 was approved by The Commonwealth’s Chamber of Commerce [Africa & Pacific].

The Kent Rock Recycling Shed continues to observe its resolution to keep on-the-lookout for opportunities online — particularly from social media platforms — to gain the expertise, guidance and funding to develop its solution and successfully integrate it into the market.
