There’s revenue beyond the counter — but businesses, organizations and other types of entities need to have their academic-thinking caps on as the target group of ESwatini Environment Authority’s Waste Management Innovation Challenge approaches them for trade agreements: Engaged in the business of collecting, storing and supplying the market with barcoded items from waste material — the Kent Rock Recycling Shed outlined MCM’s Buy-Back Center, MCM’s Flee Market, repair shops, manufacturers, [surprisingly] student accommodation (communes) and ecommerce [Lilangeni Recyclables’ LTD website] as sources of revenue for its stockpile.

The Kent Rock Recycling Shed gets its stock [barcoded items from waste material] from a portfolio of shops, companies and organizations on a contractual basis — collecting and accumulating recyclables to supply to the market (generate revenue): [in last month’s monthly report, the Kent Rock Recycling Shed highlights its ongoing challenge for business].

Once every every quarter, the Kent Rock Recycling Shed is projected to generate at least E20,000 in revenue from 1,000kg of waste material including cans, glass bottles, plastic bottles and cardboard: The supply of barcoded items from waste material is - however - still slow due to ongoing marketing initiatives for signed contracts with local shops, companies and organizations.

MCM’s Flee Market provides the Kent Rock Recycling Shed with the opportunity to sell second-hand clothing instead of dumping it to landfill — the target group of ESwatini Environment Authority’s Waste Management Innovation Challenge needs to take advantage of this organized market to boost their revenue beyond the Kent Rock Recycling Shed’s target of E60,000 for each garage (recycling shed) registered with its proposed commercial entity (Lilangeni Recyclables LTD).

Since completing an e-learning course on ‘how to prevent e-waste’, the Kent Rock Recycling has been exploring the possibility of supplying local repair shops with any electronics it manages to retrieve from its clients — this is includes disposed television sets, printers, computers and more: during the course of this year, the Kent Rock Recycling Shed managed to supply TV Doctors with a television set, and Mawandla Services with decoders, monitors and other types of electronics in a bid to develop a working business relationship revolving around the disposal and supply of old electronics.

Manufactures need raw material for their final products and services — the Kent Rock Recycling Shed is still looking into its International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme Business Management Course Companion [Unit 4] to develop this market opportunity into a revenue generating scheme.

While the Kent Rock Recycling Shed started on working on developing a strategic partnership with Limkokwing University’s Environmental Club — during a visit to the SRC President’s residence (a commune), a conversation about purchasing old sofas that were disposed into the Kent Rock Recycling Shed’s storage facility led to the following discovery: The Kent Rock Recycling Shed identified the opportunity to sell valuable waste material such as old furniture using student accommodation units such as communes [e.g. the Kent Rock Recycling Shed delivered the sofas to the LUCT’s SRC President’s residence for display – in abid to encourage one of the tenants to purchase them {the SRC President placed the first bid}].

The Kent Rock Recycling Shed’s proposed waste management platform for Lilangeni Recyclables LTD includes an online shop — where the target group of ESwatini Environment Authority’s Waste Management Challenge can market and sell not only valuable waste material such as old clothes, cars, phone and more; they can also use the online shop to sell any services they wish provide – such as becoming sales agents selling houses, cars and more.

The markets that the Kent Rock Recycling Shed has identified provide the target group of ESwatini Environment Authority’s Waste Management Challenge with a diversified approach to helping Kingdom of ESwatini deal with its waste management challenge while earning an income.

The Kent Rock Recycling Shed continues to seek market validation for its dynamic solution through entering applicable calls for innovative solutions addressing waste management practices, achieving the sustainable development goals and entrepreneurial resilience: In the month of July - the Kent Rock Recycling Shed mentioned in its monthly report that it “anxiously anticipates to be recognized entrepreneur of the year” in SEDCO’s EYA — the Kent Rock Recycling Shed did not get the award [instead — it was recognized as a billionaire given an enabling environment {Speaker}]; the quest for validation does not stop with a series of losses — the Kent Rock Recycling Shed has identified another opportunity from the European Union [Re-Think Waste Youth Challenge] to market its solution in a bid to obtain funding and technical support; the Kent Rock Recycling Shed is also on working on obtaining funds from His Majesty King Mswati III’s recent pledge of E100,000,000 to support SMEs, women and young people [the funds were noted by the Ministry of Finance — and assigned to the Ministry of Economic Planning & Development for disbursement through the appropriate channels {Youth Enterprise Revolving Fund and the Royal Science & Technology Parks’s Business Incubator}].
