The Kent Rock Recycling Shed was scheduled to travel to Dubai, United Arab Emirates - to join the Best Diplomats Conference - however, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs & International Cooperation and UN ESwatini did not account for the request for sponsorship, so the Kent Rock Recycling Shed will not be actively taking part in the “Educational Simulation of the United Nations which engages youth from across the globe, helping them to learn more about the
principles of the UN and how it functions.”
Determined to increase the quality of its work through online learning, raise funding through challenges & competitions related to Waste Management & Circular Econometrics - in the month of April, the Kent Rock Recycling Shed officially started working on its third sustainable development goal [SDG 4] in response to a call for applications advertised by UNESCO Youth’s Facebook Page [“The SDG4 Youth & Student Network, managed by #UNESCO, is a vibrant community of young leaders and experts on #SDG4. They represent youth and students as a constituency in the SDG4 High-Level Steering Committee. 🌍📚”]: The Kent Rock Recycling Shed’s solution [to ESwatini Environment Authority’s Waste Management Innovation Challenge; Stellenbosch University’s Zero-Waste-to-Landfill Strategy; and the Royal Science & Technology Park’s Sustainable Development Goals Innovative Enterprise Challenge] thrives on quality education - as it looks to enhance informal practices in the waste management sector through data analytics [the use of a smartphone] & strategically sourced infrastructure [a garage]; negotiate its proposed subsidy to make use of revenue from public toilets [air-pumps in gas stations and carbon credits] to cross-subsidize the collection, storage, and supply of barcoded items from waste material [the business operations of Lilangeni Recyclables LTD] to the value of E1.00 per unit of production; and to keep the whole establishment up-to-date with the latest innovative solutions on the market for cost-savings opportunities, increased market access and learning opportunities to develop and maintain the academic rigour of the solution.
The Kent Rock Recycling Shed also continues to reach out to a tight market [knowledgeably] for formal contracts from public sector organizations, private sector organizations and NGO’s for the collection of barcoded items from waste material resulting from their daily operations — to supply the Municipal Council of Mbabane’s Buy-Back Center with a meaningful load of waste material to generate a considerable amount of revenue [as it simulates to the general public the simple nature of making use of a smartphone, school-bag, and a garage to derive a structured business operation {& livelihood}].
The Kent Rock Recycling Shed is prepared to proceed with its resolution to enroll in as many online courses as it can to strengthen the quality of its work — as it waits endlessly for funding & technical support from the market to scale up its solution into a registered startup with the Registrar of Companies, Ministry of Commerce, Industry & Trade, Government of the Kingdom of ESwatini.
